Piano Lessons
Piano Lessons Derry, NH Londonderry, NH
Ages 4 to Adult
Let’s Play Music offers keyboard, digital piano, and piano lessons. Many piano instructors only teach students how to read songs from a lesson book. This approach is okay but it is very limiting. There is little creativity involved and the students don’t understand the language of the music. They simply know how to play the notes they read. At Let’s Play Music, in addition to reading and playing songs from a lesson book, we teach students to create their own music right away. Students learn music theory to help them understand how music is put together. Our Students Achievement System allows students to track progress and gain recognition for their successes while ensuring that they get a thorough, well-rounded music education. For each page that they complete, they are awarded a certificate. With this system, students also cover memorization skills, ear training, arranging, composing, expression, technique, music history, rhythm, timing, and more. We also arrange for students to play duets with other pianists, if they are interested, making music fun.
Let’s Play Music has created several method books including Let’s Play Jazz and More…! Students who start with this method book play along with an accompaniment CD that teaches all the techniques listed above using popular styles that kids enjoy. Our teachers are also familiar with many other methods ensuring that we find a method that is right for any student.
With piano lessons, students:
- learn using unique methods developed by Let’s Play Music or using one of many traditional piano methods
- Learn to read music
- Learn to create music
- Duets, groups & band programs supplement private piano lessons
- Recitals, festival & competition, & fun incentive programs for students
- We always make music lessons fun!
Beginners can start lessons on an acoustic piano, digital piano or keyboard. A keyboard must have full-size keys. Most keyboards with 49 keys or more have full-size keys. Touch Sensitivity is another feature that is useful. A touch sensitive keyboard will play louder if the key is pressed harder and softer if the key is pressed softer imitating an acoustic piano. Rental keyboards are available for students who do not have an instrument.
